ぴんとくる【ぴんと来る】
〈事が主語〉 come home to one; come in on [upon] one; appeal to one; impress one; 《口》 ring the bell; 〈人が主語〉 quickly understand 《what sb is driving at》.

●その一言でぴんと来た. That single word was very suggestive to me [made everything clear]. | With that single word, it all came home to me.

・私はあいつが怪しいとぴんと来た. It just came to me that he was suspicious.

・初対面のときにこの人とは仲よくなれるとぴんと来たんです. The first time we met, I understood instinctively that we would be friends.
